Author Gene Check

Gene Check has been an avid outdoorsman his whole life, and has made his living in the outdoors for over 30 years. He has trapped crayfish in several different states, and commercially in Wisconsin for over 25 years.

He has also been writing books and other publications since 1991, and is a prolific author. His latest publications include and How to Trap Crayfish for Pleasure or Profit (2024), The Professional Turtle Harvest (2024), and The Stoner’s Travel Guide to Upper Michigan (2022).

Gene will be the featured speaker at From The Land on Saturday Oct 18th, 2025. He will begin at 1pm in the ole carriage house on the farm.
