10th Annual From The Land Festival Features A Variety of New Artists

 

From the Land

A gathering of traditional crafts and skills with demonstrations.

 

When: October 22-23, 2011 (Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 10-3).

Where: Taking place on the Toll/Londowski farm one mile west of the Hwy 49/Co. Rd. J Intersection, Green Lake, Wisconsin.

Why: Come learn knowledge and techniques given from the heart by people who truly enjoy what they do!

Parking: Plenty of parking in west adjacent field.

Speaker (Saturday ONLY):  Jerry Apps: 11:00 am “Horse Drawn Days” and 1:00pm  “Lighter Side of Country Life”.

Music: Folksinger and Songwriter Jim Anger both days

Fun: Antique Tractor show both days

A decade has passed since the first From The Land Festival was held and this year promises to be one of the best yet.  New artists this year include spoon bags, several new jewelry and pottery artists, fabric bowls, engraved picture frames, inlaid cutting boards, paintings, primitive folk art, hand spun and woven articles, wearable art by Ursula and applique sweatshirts, stained glass, hand forged garden tools and garden art, plus your favorite vendors from over the past 10 years.

Jerry Apps will be at the event on Saturday only.  Books will be available for sale and the author will be available for autographs.  Jerry Apps will speak at 11:00 am on the topic of  “Horse Drawn Days” and 1:00pm with the topic being “Lighter Side of Country Life”.

Al “Goodheart” Baker, Ojibwe drummer and singer of sacred songs will be on the grounds and available for personal conversations with attendees. Al will also be featured on Sunday with presentations of spoken words, sacred drum and song starting at 11am and 1pm.

New food items include Suzie’s Tea, butterfly french fries, chocolate candy, caramel apples and pulled lamb sandwiches sponsored by The Green Lake PTO.  Even the antique tractor show is expected to be larger this year. Come on out to the farm and celebrate the 10th Annual From The Land Festival!  Fun for the whole family!
